Hello Sprouts,

This is just a short update on incoming. So let's get to it.

Weekly Pause
The Weekly Prompt will be paused from June 1st through June 18, when the Event ends. To make up for the break, the final two weeks will feature improved prizes. We encourage users to provide Feedback on prizes for these two weeks, so we know what kinds of items they need right now.

This pause will allow the team to focus on health, approvals, and reducing backlog during the Event period. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

In the meantime, we recommend starting the Golden Voyage if you haven't already, as we're issuing the 30-day notice today. It will be released on July 1st, and you'll find more details below. We have also included the changelog for the website update so everyone can familiarize themselves with the changes in advance.


As a reminder, we go on break July 1st for the whole month!



Griffsnuff Health/Porting
Due to a recent vision issue that doctors currently suspect may be a retinal occlusion ("eye stroke"), moderation and some administrative tasks may be slower than usual for a period of time while additional testing is completed.

ARPG work and porting will continue as normal where possible. However, reading large amounts of text is currently more difficult for Griffsnuff, which may impact response times.

If a character needs to be ported urgently for the Event, please send a direct message to Griffsnuff. Event-related ports can be prioritized on a case-by-case basis.

Golden Hybrid Fruit Changes - Date Announcement
This change is scheduled for July 1.

This change will go live while we are on break.

Open Species Hybrids - Live
Since users cannot create Open Species hybrids through the approval system, they can have them created manually through the Help Desk.

Users need to send us a Ticket in the Help Desk. Just let us know how many fruits, the theme, and which subtypes/species. The max is still 5 to match the Love Item approval system.

 

Background Rule Changes - Live
The background rules have been completely revised. They are longer, but we have lifted restrictions.

Changes:
- Removed the need for a horizon line. This will allow users to make more creative environments, such as top-down or characters floating.
- Made what doesn't count clearer.
- Made more things count as elements, like celestial bodies, bubbles etc.
- Added more art examples

Rule - 5.6b Official Slot Submissions has been updated to clarify that one-off designs cannot be submitted to the Official Slot; only Avatar, Form 1, and Form 2 are allowed.

Devlog coming July 1st 2026 EARLY ( Coming)

- Removed "main" and "hybrid" subtypes as a thing; they are just subtypes now
- Removed golden hybrid fruit from love item approval, it now costs 1 hybrid fruit for every additional subtype after 1 (max is still 5 for love approval)
- Added "Add Subtype" modal to the character page where owners can add subtypes to their characters with golden hybrid fruits (Not allowed on mascot characters)
- Users can now change the subtypes on their CYO characters
- Love item approval no longer awards the "The Ultimate Merge" achievement
- "The Ultimate Merge" achievement moved to the trophy tab
- Added new user achievement "Add Subtype" awarded when adding a subtype to any character
- Replaced "Main Subtype" and "Hybrid Subtypes" masterlist search fields with "Subtype" and "Subtype Count".
- Added additional information about searching the masterlist
- Removed all subtype categories that aren't tied to a single species on the System themes page
- Characters with multiple subtypes now appear in all those categories on the themes page
- Added a "Remove" button to closed support tickets. This will hide the ticket for the user but will remain visible for admins. It will also automatically become visible to the user again if it is reopened by an admin.
- Multi-select dropdown is now filterable
- Added "Image credit" as a new option on the Character Image approval reward
