Hello, Sprouts

We're excited to be returning from our break and will soon begin processing approvals again!

During our time away, we had the chance to finish some site features and prepare for what's next. We don't have a lot to share, but we're excited to jump back in.

Let's get started!

Team Addition
We're excited to welcome back @palleteclipse, a former moderator, in a new role as Assistant.

This role focuses on administrative tasks, data entry, logging, organization, and other behind-the-scenes work that supports the owners in the day-to-day running of Griffia. It does not include enforcing rules, handling disciplinary actions, responding to Help Desk tickets or questions, or acting as a public point of contact.

We created this role to help with the growing amount of backend work, allowing the owners to focus their time where it's needed most and helping Griffia run more smoothly.

Dark Mode - Alpha 
The alpha version of Dark Mode is now available!

The website themes that can be changed in User Settings. (Light Mode and Dark Mode)

Since this is an early release, users may encounter pages with incorrect text or background colors while we are updating content originally designed for Light Mode.

Much of this work involves updating artwork by replacing solid backgrounds with transparency and moving image-based gradients into CSS so they automatically adapt to both themes. Some page layouts may also change as artwork is redesigned, and older sketches may need to be redrawn or finished to match the site's style. Thank you for your patience while we continue improving the feature.

Limitations that cannot be changed.
- Scroll wheels are determined by the browser, so we cannot change those.

Kown Errors
- Masterlist Avatar/Form buttons show the wrong shading color.

Being Fixed Over the Next Few Weeks
- Removing formatting that made text dark/black.
- White backgrounds appearing where they should not will be removed.

Will Be Fixed When Pages Are Rebuilt
- Tan continent backgrounds inside pages
- Artwork that requires transparency or other image edits.

May Remain As-Is
- Editor Mode will remain in Light Mode.
- Tutorials and guides will continue to display in Light Mode.

Page Responsiveness - Alpha
As part of our ongoing website improvements, we're gradually rebuilding many of our pages from scratch. We have mentioned this before, but we will be devoting more resources to this now with the release of Dark Mode, since the errors are now glaringly obvious. These pages were originally created using a visual editor where content could be placed and formatted without writing code. We're now recreating them by hand in Visual Studio Code, writing the HTML and CSS ourselves.

Sidebar Changes for Mobile/Small Screens - Live
We've introduced a new sidebar for smaller screens. It can be expanded by clicking the menu button, similar to the Scroll to Top button. It may be a little difficult to spot at first, but it becomes much easier to use once you're familiar with it.

Vue/Interactive Elements
During the break, Vue was updated to the latest version. As a result, some interactive elements and CSS styling may not function as expected. We're actively identifying and fixing these issues as we work through the site.

- Added lifetime GC earned in the Void Well history.

Changes
- Changed sidebar for smaller screens.
- Changed message center unread notifications/tickets to make it even clearer that tickets and notifications are two separate menus with separate notifications.

Bugs/Removal
- Removed promotional button on the TinyMCE editor.
- Fixed bug where sidebar would act responsive on pages that weren't responsive if the "Use Responsive CSS" setting was enabled.
- Fixed bug where page navigation would act responsive on pages that weren't responsive if the "Use Responsive CSS" setting was enabled.
- Fixed bug in Mascot Approval form.
