NEWS

Hello, Sprouts

This is a short but very important dev update. Let's just get straight to it.

Page and Project Development
As many of you know, we recently released Dark Mode, which arrived much earlier than expected and significantly changed our development process.

We have previously discussed slowly converting existing pages to the new system. For this update, we overhauled the Terradragon Griffolk page as our first major test. We wanted to learn how long it would take to fully complete a page with its planned text, artwork, assets, mobile support, Dark Mode, and new code changes.

The overhaul took 2–3 months, compared to the 1 month most of our previous Griffolk pages required. Much of this time was spent rebuilding formats, updating older assets, and creating code that can be reused on future pages.

This gave us a much clearer idea of the actual scope of these overhauls. Larger pages cannot be our only development focus, so they will take longer to complete alongside other projects.

What this means:

- Our priority is to update these pages properly rather than release work that will need to be rebuilt later.

- Redoing large existing pages, such as the Griffian pages, will be slower. Because these pages take so much time, we will likely need to split them into sections. We don't quite know how we want to handle this yet and will update the community once we do.

- All new pages are built for Dark Mode and mobile responsiveness, as stated in previous updates.

- Older assets will need to be updated as part of rebuilding older pages regardless of how they look currently since they need to fit the new formats.

Terradragon Page Update
On to the exciting portion of this update: the example!

To celebrate Dragon Migration Month, we fully completed the new Terradragon page as a sample for the community to see and interact with. This page represents the intended format and quality for future page overhauls.

We completed all planned assets for this pass and prepared the page for any future additions. Our goal was not only to improve the older artwork, but to expand player resources and better support character creation.

We left the lore alone, but we also split key information into smaller, more digestible sections and used the expanded art assets to add more flavor to each subtype. We hope these interactive, coded pages inspire users and make information easier to navigate, especially for those who struggled with the previous text-heavy format.

We hope the community enjoys the new page, plus all the new fun lore and assets!

The Sections Explained

- Intro: We have added a simplified species summary to the top of the page and turned the species traits into visual icons.

- Species Vibe: We moved the species bingo from the bottom to the top and renamed it to better reflect its purpose as a quick summary of the species.

- Lore: This section is unchanged, but is now collapsible so it does not dominate the page or intimidate users. This information is the most optional for character creation and is intended to be explored last.

- Anatomy: Many of the existing assets users are familiar with have been revised and condensed into this interactive gallery, alongside new and expanded assets. Anatomy information has also been broken into smaller, more digestible sections. The lore itself is untouched.

- Manual Turnaround: This asset took the most time to complete, but will serve as a permanent reference for users who struggle to draw the species from different angles. We completed turnarounds for both Griffolk and Titan forms.

- Life Cycle: This section is untouched, but has minor asset updates.

- Traits: This section is completely new and includes visual diagrams and explanations of the species' unique ways of expressing themselves visually, as well as special forms in this interactive gallery.

- Subtypes: This section received the largest expansion and has also been placed in an interactive gallery. Each subtype now includes individual heights for Griffolk and Titans, Griffling, Baby, and Love Item references, improved alternate drawings, expanded fashion diagrams, and a history of when the subtype was added to the game.

Subtype Reintroduction - Antimatter
We have readded Antimatter to the game now that we are further along in development, along with improved lore. It is now available to be made through Love Approval for 5 Love Vouchers.

If your character was previously Antimatter, you can have them converted back to this subtype for free. You can request this through the Help Desk under "Other".
